Spring 2012 Courses

REGISTRATION: January 11, 2012 at 1 p.m.and Thursday, January 12, 2012, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at 6 p.m.  Fees must be paid at this time to reserve space in the class.  Cash, checks, credit cards, company sponsored letters are accepted methods of payment.  CLASS WILL FILL ON A FIRST-COME BASIS.  FEE WAIVERS may be used after all paying students have registered and space is available.

COMPUTER COURSE

Basic Computer Skills
This course is self-paced and design for seniors and older students. This course introduces basic computer tasks using Windows, typing with a word processor, navigating the web, and working with email. 
Date and Time: January 12, 2012, Tuesday and Thursday 6 p.m.– 9 p.m. 
Length: Six sessions, a total of 18 hours. 
Fees: $86.00 plus the cost of book.

INDUSTRIAL COURSES

Industrial Maintenance
The 16-month program is designed to provide entry level skills to accomplish the daily tasks required to maintain equipment.  The curriculum includes PLC’s, electronic sensors, single and three phase motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, schematic diagram reading, wiring procedures, OSHA electrical regulations, fluid power, mechanical maintenance, welding, machine application and air-conditioning and refrigeration.

Length: Twenty six sessions, a total of 78 hours.   
Fees: $288.00  plus beginning cost of books, supplies and other academic fees.

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration 
The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program is 20-months of individualized  instruction that prepares students to work in a variety of jobs in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration.  Students are prepared to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pumps, and electrical and gas heating, and humidifiers.  Students also learn the fundamentals of electricity, electric motors, and controls.

Welding Processes
The 12-month program is designed to prepare students for a career in welding using the various welding processes and blueprint reading.  The individualized method of instruction provides for both classroom instruction and practical hands on experience using tools and welding equipment.  The following processes will be taught using mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel plate and pipe:  SMAW (stick), MIG, TIG, and Oxyacetylene and Plasma cutting.

HEALTH RELATED COURSE

IV Therapy Course for LPN’s
This course is designed to offer LPN’s the basic knowledge necessary to safely assist the registered nurse in administering and monitoring selected peripheral IV medications under the supervision of the registered nurse. You must be a currently licensed practical nurse to take this course.

Length: 5 sessions, a total of 40 hours. 
Fees: $457.00 Includes books and supplies.
