GED Information
Thank you for your interest in the GED.
The GED will be given on Tuesday, October 26 and Wednesday, October 27, 2010, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration will open for the October testing date on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at 9 a.m.
The GED is given once a month from January to November of each year.
The GED is composed of 5 tests:
- Mathematics
- Language Arts, Writing
- Science
- Social Studies
- Language Arts, Reading
It will take both days to complete all five tests. Please be prepared to stay from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. both days. If you have not taken the GED since January 1, 2002, you are required to take the GED pretest. For information concerning the GED pretest given in Tipton County, please call 475-0037. The State of Tennessee is now helping students pay for their GED. For information concerning the GED Test Voucher, please call 475-0037.

The following is the necessary documentation you must bring when you come to register. The examiner must come to register. No one will be allowed to register for an examinee.

Retests are $11 per test.
Please allow a minimum of 30 minutes to complete the registration process.
Once you take the GED, please allow 3 weeks to receive your test results.
You are required to make a minimum of 410 on all 5 tests AND have an average score of 450 to pass the GED.
