What is the Application Process?

Once you have passed an approved nursing entrance exam AND your scores rank in the top percentile (based on the number of passing scores received), you will receive a letter regarding the next step in the application process.  Students are required to pass an approved nursing entrance exam by the deadline (Monday, April 30, 2012, at 3 p.m.), attend the orientation session, complete paperwork by the deadline, and interview before their file is submitted to a committee.  The committee will review all eligible applicants and select the class.  Please note:  passing the approved nursing entrance exam does not guarantee admittance.

What are the approved nursing entrance exams?

We currently accept 3 nursing entrance exams.  You only have to take and pass 1 of the 3 to be considered for the class.

Compass – 50 in Math (Pre-Algebra) and 80 in Reading

Asset – 38 in Math and 42 in Reading

ACT - must be 20 years of age or under & scores must be 19 in Math & Reading.  A 19 composite score is not acceptable.

Passing scores are valid for two years for the Practical Nursing program.

Best scores will be accepted in both Compass and ACT, not necessarily latest.
