Tipton County High School Students Win Technical Scholarships
2011 Tennessee Technical Education Scholarship Winners
Tennessee Technology Center at Covington recently awarded Tennessee Technical Education Scholarships in the amount of $2535 each to seven Tipton County High School seniors.
Requirements for the scholarship were to have a grade point average of 2.5, be nominated by a high school teacher, recommended by the principal and complete an application verified by the high school counselor. Included in the application were questions regarding technical classes taken in high school and extra- curricular activities in which the student participated. The Tennessee Technical Scholarship Committee reviewed the applications and selected the recipients.
Each of the 2011 winners was enrolled in the Dual Enrollment Program at the Tennessee Technology Center this school year and plan to complete the technical program in which they were enrolled after graduation. Dual Enrollment students spend 2.5 hours of classroom time at the Technology Center each day in agreement with their feeder high school.
