U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS

The Tennessee Technology Center at Covington is approved to provide training to veterans and dependents of veterans who have been determined eligible for these benefits.

Appropriate forms to be completed can be obtained from the Student Services Office on the first day of a student's enrollment.

Veterans must submit their Form DD 214 and transcripts/certificates of previous education/training from colleges, technical or vocational schools, military, etc., in order to apply for benefits to the Students Services Office where paperwork will be processed and forwarded to the Veterans Administration. Checks will be received in approximately three months from the enrollment date. Student Verification of enrollment forms for veterans are mailed monthly to the veteran by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or Veterans may self-certify by phone (1-877-823-2378). The way a verteran self-certifies is determined by the chapter of benefits they receive, please see the Student Services Coordinator for more information. The verification forms must be completed, signed, and dated by the veteran and returned immediately to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Checks are issued approximately two to three weeks after the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs receives this form.

Approval for payment will not be issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs until the Student Verification of Enrollment forms are received or the student has self-certified; late receipt of this form or delayed calling will result in delayed payment.

Eligible veterans must enroll either full-time (30 clock hours per week) or half-time (15 clock hours per week) or under the Center’s approved schedules with the Veterans Administration to be eligible to receive these benefits. [click here for more information]
