 Programs Offerings

 

 

Specific programs are offered primarily upon the needs and opportunities of business and industry in this region. The total program is planned to provide the type of training that leads directly to employment or that assists the employed worker to upgrade skills and increase technical knowledge. Programs will full under three main categories: Day Programs, Supplemental Evening Programs, and Special Industry Programs. Instructors will adjust the number of hours that a student spends working in instructional units according to the previous experience and progress. Programs offered are competency bases and open entry/open exit. Instruction is individualized and learning is self-paced for the student.

Preparatory Day Program Offerings:

All programs (except Practical Nursing) enroll students on a weekly basis and utilize individual instruction in a self-paced learning environment so students are able to advance at her/her own rate of speed.

Full-time preparatory classes meet six hours daily between 8:00 am and 2:30 pm. Trainees are allowed to progress at their own rate and may develop sufficient skill and knowledge to become employable in a shorter period of time than listed in the following information blocks.

Supplemental Evening Programs*

Tennessee Technology Center at Covington offers various part-time evening classes. These classes are offered as interest and needs demand of the community.  Evening programs are scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays (unless otherwise specified).

Industry Training

The State of Tennessee provides a special benefit to the business and industrial communities located in our county and surrounding counties offering specialized training through the TTCC. As economic and technological advancements place new demands on businesses and industry and mandate employees be retrained, the Technology Center will work to develop courses and provide quality training to meet those needs.
